Aeolus Quartet

ILP Residency, May 22-26, 2017

The Aeolus Quartet has been awarded prizes at nearly every major chamber music competition in the United States, including the Coleman International Chamber Ensemble Competition, the Plowman Chamber Music Competition and the Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition. The Quartet is a recent Graduate Resident String Quartet at The Juilliard School. They have performed across North America, Europe and Asia in venues including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Library of Congress, St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, and the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center in China.

Dedicated to bringing music into the community, the Quartet has been widely recognized for its highly innovative and engaging outreach programs. Quartet members have served as teaching faculty at Stanford University’s Education Program for Gifted Youth, Da Camera of Houston’s Music Encounters Program, and many others. The Quartet also specializes in working with special needs students, and has presented outreach programs at local schools including the Keidan Special Education Center in Detroit. The Aeolus Quartet worked with the Chamber Music Society of Detroit to develop the Interactive Learning Packages Pilot program in 2015-16, and returns this season for visits to additional schools.
