Health & Safety - 2022/23 Season
Last Updated 08/11/2022. As we enter our 2022/23 season, COVID-19 is generally resulting in mild cases for most who contract it. In light of this, and the very high vaccination and booster rates in both the CMDetroit and our neighboring communities, we are adjusting our health and safety policies.
Masks
CMDetriot will continue to monitor local health conditions and will require masks if Oakland or Wayne County is in the high or “red” category, as defined by the CDC (HERE) on the day of the performance. If Oakland or Wayne County is in the “yellow” (medium) or “green” (low) category, masks will be encouraged but optional. This policy is in alignment with the University of Michigan’s approach for Fall 2022. We fully support patrons who continue to mask and remind everyone that in the absence of mask and vaccine mandates, one-way masking still provides substantial protection.
Vaccines
Like most other performing arts organizations in Southeast Michigan, CMDetroit will no longer require audience members to provide proof of vaccination or negative PCR test at performances. We encourage all attendees to stay up-to-date on COVID boosters, flu shots, and other preventative measures.
Socially Distanced Section
At the Seligman Performing Arts Center, contingent upon demand and capacity, we will continue to offer reseating into socially distanced seats for those patrons who want them. At General Admission venues in Detroit, Oakland, and Grosse Pointe, there will probably be sufficient space for concerned patrons to isolate.
Unexpected Changes: These policies are based upon recommendations and/or requirements from Federal, State, County, and venue officials at the time of printing. Any changes in recommendations and/or requirements may necessitate further changes to these policies.
We ask all audience members to do their part to create a safe environment for everyone. To that end, we encourage audience members who are not feeling well to stay home — and we’ll offer ticket donations, exchanges, and credit for future performances this season up until one hour before each performance by contacting the Box Office at (313) 335-3300.
Note that all concerts will also be available through our webcasting platform, CameraMusic, if you prefer to enjoy them from home.
