Chamber Music Detroit opens its 79th Season on September 10 with sensational Sphinx Medal of Excellence winner violinist Randall Goosby, joined by pianist Zhu Wang to perform Beethoven’s famous “Bridgetower” sonata, plus works by Lili Boulanger, Maurice Ravel, and Florence Price.

Signed exclusively to Decca Classics in 2020 at the age of 24, American violinist Randall Goosby is acclaimed for the sensitivity and intensity of his musicianship alongside his determination to make music more inclusive and accessible, as well as bringing the music of under-represented composers to light.
Highlights of Randall Goosby’s 2021-22 season include debuts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel at the Hollywood Bowl, Baltimore Symphony under Dalia Stasevska, Detroit Symphony under Jader Bignamini, London Philharmonic Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra. He makes recital appearances at London’s Wigmore Hall, New York’s 92nd Street Y, San Francisco Symphony’s Davies Symphony Hall and Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
Goosby’s frequent collaborator, pianist Zhu Wang, is the winner of the 2020 Young Concert Artists International Audition and the Stern Young Artist Development Award. His 2021-22 engagements include solo recital debuts at Carnegie’ s Zankel Hall and Kenney Center, world premiere performances of Nina Shekhar’s work for solo piano, Florence Price’s Piano Concerto in One Movement with Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, and appearances with violinist Randall Goosby in San Francisco Symphony Recital Series, 92nd Street Y and Merkin Hall.
